ALLEGRA 60MG CAPSULE

Generic Name:  FEXOFENADINE (fex-oh-FEN-uh-deen)

COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Allegra

USES: This medication is an antihistamine used to relieve allergy symptoms such as watery, itchy, red eyes; sneezing, runny nose, itchy throat.

HOW TO TAKE THIS MEDICATION: Take this medication by mouth as directed, usually twice a day.

This may be taken with food or milk if stomach upset occurs.

SIDE EFFECTS: Nausea, stomach upset, menstrual cramps, fatigue or cold symptoms may occur. If these effects continue or become severe, inform your doctor.

Although drowsiness is uncommon at usual doses under normal circumstances, be aware that this medication may have such an effect before engaging in activities requiring alertness.

PRECAUTIONS: Before taking this, tell your doctor if you have kidney disease or any allergies.

Do not take this medication for several days before any allergy testing since test results can be affected.

Limit alcohol intake, as it may aggravate drug side effects.

This medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It is unknown if this drug is excreted into breast milk. Consult with your doctor before breast-feeding.

Caution is advised when this drug is used in the elderly.

DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of any nonprescription or prescription medication you may use.

MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.

STORAGE: Store at room temperature between 68 and 77 degrees F (20 to 25 degrees C) away from light and moisture. Do not store in the bathroom.
